Programs For Members
PEAK members can use club equipment, including club singles, doubles, quads, coxed four, 8, plus oars, slings and pfds. They are eligible for the programs below. In addition, members often arrange to row together outside of programs. Standley Lake is open from May 1 to Sept 30.
Intermediate Intensive
At least one or two seasons of rowing required. Taught in our 8, 4xs and 4- for a mix of sweeping and sculling. Coaching will emphasize technique, cardio and speed. Please sign up more than 7 days in advance (by May 24).
Cost: $60 total
Mon., June 1, & Wed., June 3, both at 5:45-8:15 pm
1-Week Sweep Refresher
Must have previous sweep or sculling experience. Taught in our 8 and/or coxed 4. Must attend all 7 sessions. Limited to the first 8 people who sign up. Please sign up more than 7 days in advance of the session (by May 2).
Cost: $70 total
Sat. May 9 through Fri., May 15, all at 6:45-8:45 am
Learn To Sweep
No experience necessary. Taught in our 8 and coxed 4. Must attend all 3 mornings. Please sign up more than 7 days in advance of the session (by May 11).
Cost: $60 total
Mon., May 18, Wed., May 20, Fri., May 22, all at 6:45-8:45 am
Adaptive PR3 Sweep & Sculling Learn To Row
No previous experience necessary. Taught in an 8-person boat and quads. Limited to the first 10 people to sign up. Please sign up more than 7 days in advance (by May 5).
Cost: $150 total
Tuesdays, May 12, May 26, June 2, June 9, all at 6-8 pm

Indoor Rowing Lessons
PEAK offers virtual erg classes under the guidance of a US Rowing-certified coach. Online classes are open to all for COST and free for 2025 members and veterans.
Meet Our Coaches
Natalie Ormond
A USRowing level 2 certified coach, Natalie has been obsessed with rowing since 2013. She is an avid competitor and the founding force behind PEAK Rowing.
DawnMarie Schwappach
A USRowing coach and referee, DawnMarie has served the rowing community for 20+ years. She has adapted her coaching to effectively reach juniors, seniors, veterans and adaptive athletes as well as those with Asperger’s, post concussive/traumatic brain injury and learning disabilities. One of the nation’s first indoor rowing instructors, she developed a local program in 1996 which is still going strong today.
Erika Nelson-Wong
Erika is a USRowing level 1 certified coach who has competed in local and regional regattas in both sculling and sweep events. Erika made the switch from competitive cycling to rowing in 2001.
Deb Kornblut
Deb is a USRowing level 1 certified coach. She was introduced to the magic of rowing while at the College of William & Mary. She has been rowing since 2017 and has experience in sweep, scull and gig rowing. Prior to PEAK, she rowed with the Anchorage Rowing Association. She is always ready to share her excitement of the sport with others!
Peter Gozar
A USRowing level 2, adaptive & para certified coach, Pete has been sharing his love of rowing and sculling since the early 1990s. Originally from Cleveland, he was on the Kent State University Rowing Club team, and then a coach with Western Reserve Rowing Association and Rocky Mountain Rowing Club. Pete has competed in local, national and international regattas and is a founding force behind Rocky Mountain Rowing Club’s annual 5280 regatta.
